About the Airplanes
AfHP is dedicated to promoting local capacity building and improving the lives of people by fostering economic development, education and first response civilian disaster relief. This is accomplished through the building of rugged, agile bush type kit airplanes in underserved areas of the world, which shall be utilized in these areas by humanitarian organizations.

Small rugged airplanes are a vital link in serving the needs of people, in developing and underdeveloped nations throughout the world. They provide for the safe transportation of people or materials into remote or unimproved areas,  under normal operations and during emergencies and crises. These aircraft do not necessarily require runways and can quickly meet the needs of first response disaster relief by getting vital supplies like medicine, food, fuel, communications and coordination equipment, and manpower into disaster areas.

AfHP has a unique approach to filling the need for humanitarian mission aircraft. The approach is twofold: providing education and economic development through the building of mission capable kit aircraft while at the same time affording an economical solution to obtaining and maintaining aircraft for use in disaster relief, crisis management and other humanitarian efforts. Kit airplanes available today provide an opportunity to incorporate the advantages of new technology with rugged dependability and utility at a very reasonable cost both for initial purchase and continued operation.

Education and Economic Development
Education and training obtained by local participants while building the kit airplanes provide prized skills that can be applied to jobs in many local and regional industries and trades.  Jobs are created through the operation and continued maintenance of the aircraft as well.

Skills include:

  • Airframe Mechanics
  • Engine Building and Maintenance
  • Sheet Metal Work and Riveting
  • Machining and Metal Working
  • Welding
  • Woodworking
  • Electrical Systems and Avionics
  • Instruments
  • Fiberglass and Composite Work
  • Painting and Finishing
  • Reading and Understanding Engineering Drawings
  • Inspection and Quality Control Techniques
Aircraft Usage

The outstanding qualities of these kit airplanes are based on their versatility and utilitarian capabilities. They are ideal in areas where distance is an issue, where ground transportation is minimal or conditions do not afford safe or timely passage. Airports or even runways are not always necessary because of their rugged design, thus increasing utility. The aircraft can be fitted with floats for water operations (and converted back) easily. This allows many different mission possibilities:

  • First Response Disaster Relief and Crisis Management
  • Humanitarian Assistance
  • Reoccurring and Scheduled Missions
  • Emergencies
  • Medical Assistance
  • Search and Rescue
  • Wildlife Management

Partnerships
Partnerships play a key role in our mission of indigenous capacity building and will be  formed with the people building the airplanes as well as with Governments, NGOs, corporate and educational institutions and private sponsors.

Educational partnerships will be formed for development of construction and operations curricula with assistance from both the scholastic and corporate environments. Internships will be integrated with teaching positions, available to volunteers and cooperative educational programs.

Mission usage partnerships will be welcome.
