About the Airplanes
The airplanes that AfHP have taken into consideration were chosen for their mission capabilities as well as their construction types. Kit aircraft are a natural choice, because they allow for an educational opportunity while at the same time providing an affordable source of aircraft for humanitarian missions. When the airplane has been completed, it must be able to perform to a wide range of missions. Since one of the primary focuses of this project is education, a number of different kit airplanes were chosen to be able to provide a wide range of skills.

The missions of these aircraft will be to supplement or broaden existing humanitarian infrastructures. These aircraft are not meant to transport large payloads of equipment, people or other forms of aid. This is best left to large aircraft. Distributing smaller payloads to numerous locations that are inaccessible to larger aircraft are the ideal missions for these aircraft.

The aircraft below provide a wide array of mission capabilities as well as construction techniques. The missions of first response disaster relief and humanitarian assistance in underdeveloped areas will require agile aircraft that have rough short field capabilities with adequate payload and range. These types of missions generally do not require an aircraft to have fast cruise speeds. As missions evolve or demand changes, additional types of aircraft can be included into the project. There are as many types of kit aircraft as there are missions. If we find that there is a need for faster airplanes to travel longer distances and rough field capabilities are not essential, there are a number of kit aircraft that can fill this mission and provide the educational opportunities that fulfill those requirement as well. Some of these aircraft can also be converted in the field, relatively easily, to enhance the missions such as converting from wheels to floats if water capabilities are required.
